Charleston Moves regularly conducts bicycle and pedestrian counts throughout Charleston County to collect data that illustrates travel demand and origin-destination trips for vulnerable road users. We align these count locations and times with upcoming projects to help inform our advocacy. We also conduct pre- and post-counts when projects are being installed to demonstrate how the provision of safe bike/ped/transit infrastructure encourages more multi-modal trips and shifts mode share from motor vehicles to active transportation.
We rely on volunteers to assist us with this work. If you’d like to lend a hand, please sign up for upcoming opportunities!
